Chrome Extension
Monitor any webpage in one click.
The Zikit Chrome Extension turns any page into a monitor. Visual CSS picker, badge alerts, and AI-summarized changes - all tied to your Zikit account so checks run 24/7 even when your browser is closed.
Tip: sign up first so the extension can log you in automatically on install.
What the extension does
One-click monitoring
Click the Zikit icon on any public webpage. It's now being watched on your schedule. No URL typing, no config.
Visual CSS picker
Instead of writing CSS selectors by hand, click on the element you want to track. The extension figures out the selector and narrows the monitor to just that region.
Badge alerts
When a monitored page changes, the extension icon shows a count badge. Click to see the AI summary in a popup - no email wait.
Keyword filters
Highlight a word or phrase on a page, right-click, 'Monitor changes to this phrase.' Alerts only fire when that specific text appears or disappears.
How it works together
Extension creates the monitor. You click, pick the part of the page you care about, done.
Zikit servers run the actual checks on your schedule - no browser needed. Your laptop can be closed.
Alerts land in the extension badge, email, Slack, Telegram, Discord, or a webhook - configurable per monitor.
Extension FAQ
Do I need a Zikit account to use the extension?
Yes. The extension signs you into your Zikit account so monitors, alerts, and history all sync across devices. Free account works.
Does the extension work without the dashboard?
The extension is a remote control for your Zikit account. It creates monitors and surfaces alerts, but the actual checking runs server-side on Zikit's infrastructure - not in your browser. Close your laptop; monitors keep running.
What permissions does the extension ask for?
Access to the current page (so it can read the URL and show the picker), storage (to remember your sign-in), and alarms (for badge updates). It never reads pages in the background.
Is the extension free?
Yes, free with every Zikit account including the free plan. The extension just writes to your account; your plan's check quota and site limit still apply.
Is it open source?
Not yet. The core engine is proprietary. If this changes, we'll announce it.
One click. Every page. No more tabs left open.
Sign up free, then install the extension. Together they cover monitoring anywhere on the web.
