Getting started

What is Zikit?

Zikit is a website change monitoring tool that watches any public webpage 24/7 and sends you AI-summarized alerts the moment something meaningful changes. Cloud-native, no browser extension required.

How does Zikit work?

Paste a URL into Zikit. We fetch the page on your chosen schedule, compare against the previous snapshot through a 7-stage detection pipeline (including a semantic similarity gate), and only alert you when something meaningful actually changed. An AI summary tells you exactly what's different and rates its importance 1-10.

Is Zikit free?

Yes. The free plan includes 3 sites with unlimited pages each, daily checks, email alerts, AI summaries, and 7-day history. No credit card required. Paid plans start at $19/mo for hourly checks and Slack/Telegram/Discord alerts.

Do I need a credit card to sign up?

No. Free plan never asks for a card. Paid plans are billed via Paddle (our merchant of record) - you only enter card details when you choose to upgrade.

How can I sign in?

Google, Apple, GitHub, or Microsoft. Pick whichever account you already have. Sign in with Apple is supported on web and (when the iOS app ships) natively. We never store passwords ourselves - Supabase handles auth and we only see your email and name.

Which payment methods do you accept?

All paid plans accept Apple Pay, Google Pay, credit/debit card, and PayPal via Paddle. Paddle is our merchant of record - they handle billing, sales tax, VAT, and chargebacks in every country.

What Zikit can and can't monitor

What can Zikit monitor?

Any public HTML webpage: pricing pages, changelogs, terms-of-service, blog posts, careers pages, government regulations, news articles, product detail pages, docs, and more. JSON APIs, RSS feeds, and sitemaps also work.

What can Zikit NOT monitor?

We don't monitor login-gated content, TikTok/Instagram/Facebook/X feeds (they block bots and require auth), Google search results (personalized per user), Netflix/Spotify/streaming (DRM), or Amazon seller pages. We warn you upfront in the monitor creation flow when a URL won't work reliably.

Can I monitor a page that requires login?

Not today. Zikit only fetches publicly accessible URLs. If you need this for a specific use case, email support@zikit.ai - we're considering authenticated monitoring for enterprise customers.

How does Zikit handle sites with heavy JavaScript or Cloudflare protection?

Our fetch pipeline has 3 tiers: direct HTTP, Scrape.do residential proxy, and headless Playwright browser. If tier 1 is blocked, we automatically escalate. ~95% of real-world URLs work through this cascade.

Alerts and detection

How often does Zikit check my pages?

Depending on your plan: daily (free), hourly (Pro), or every 15 minutes (Business). You pick the frequency per monitor when you create it.

Where do I receive alerts?

Email (all plans), plus Slack, Discord, Telegram, and custom webhooks on Pro and Business. You can route different monitors to different channels.

How does Zikit filter noise so I only get meaningful alerts?

Four layers: (1) hash compare - skip if nothing changed at all, (2) 40+ noise patterns that strip timestamps and session tokens, (3) semantic embedding gate - if the before and after are >95% semantically similar, skip the LLM, (4) importance scoring 1-10 by GPT. You set a threshold; anything below is muted.

What does the AI summary look like?

Instead of a raw diff, you get a plain-English sentence. Example: 'Pro plan price increased from $29/mo to $39/mo. Enterprise tier removed custom SSO language.' Plus 2-4 specific bullet points with old to new values, an importance score, and a suggested action item if relevant.

Chrome extension, API, and mobile

Does Zikit have a Chrome extension?

Yes. Install from the Chrome Web Store and add any page to Zikit with one click. Includes a visual CSS selector picker so you can monitor only a specific section of a page.

Does Zikit have a REST API?

Yes, on the Business plan. Generate API keys in Settings. Endpoints cover: monitors, changes, alert configs, CSV export. Full documentation at zikit.ai/docs.

Is there a mobile app?

The web dashboard is fully responsive and works great in a mobile browser - you can add it to your home screen as a PWA today. A native iOS app is in active development (built on Capacitor); Android will follow. If you want to be in the TestFlight beta when it opens, email support@zikit.ai.

Pricing and billing

What are the plan limits?

Free: 3 sites, unlimited pages per site, 100 checks/month, daily + weekly checks, email alerts. Pro $19/mo: 20 sites, 2,000 checks/month, hourly checks, Slack/Discord/Telegram. Business $49/mo: 100 sites, 10,000 checks/month, 15-minute checks, REST API, webhooks.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancel in Settings -> Billing. Your plan remains active through the end of the billing period you already paid for. 30-day money-back guarantee on all paid plans.

What happens if I exceed my monthly check quota?

Zikit stops checking new monitors until the next billing cycle or you upgrade. Existing alerts on already-completed checks still send. We warn you when you hit 70% and 90% of your quota.

Is Zikit GDPR compliant?

Yes. We only store URL + change data you explicitly ask us to monitor. Full privacy policy at zikit.ai/privacy. Data-subject requests handled within 30 days. Billing is processed by Paddle as the merchant of record.

How does Zikit compare to Distill, Visualping, changedetection.io, Hexowatch, Fluxguard, Wachete, ChangeTower, Versionista, Sken.io, Follow That Page, or Onwebchange?

We publish an honest side-by-side for each of those 11 tools at zikit.ai/alternatives. Each page names where that competitor is the better pick AND where Zikit wins. No bashing; the goal is to match visitors with the right tool, not to win every comparison.

Language and accessibility

What languages does Zikit support?

The UI and AI summaries work in English, Hebrew, Arabic, and all Latin-alphabet languages. Hebrew and RTL are first-class - the layout flips correctly, AI summaries are produced in the source language, and the Camo chat assistant responds in whatever language you write to it.

Is Zikit accessible?

We follow WCAG 2.1 AA targets. Keyboard navigation, focus indicators, aria-labels on all interactive elements. Report accessibility issues to support@zikit.ai.
